Hotchkiss is a special place and our future home.
We bought a small homestead property on Hanson Mesa in Hotchkiss this past March and will be moving here in 2028. Located in the North Fork Valley, this community is renowned for farm-to-table dining, local wineries, and outdoor recreation near the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The North Fork of the Gunnison runs through the Valley and provides an abundance of fruit, vegetables, and local meat that we will all enjoy this weekend.
This year was particularly hard on the North Fork community, with a late freeze that damaged fruit crops, wildfires, and severe drought. Consider exploring the many agricultural and shopping opportunities while you are visiting. Every little bit helps these small businesses in lean years.
Many of our guests and valley neighbors have contributed graciously to the experience you will have during the wedding and reception.
From the flowers to the food and sweet special touches here and there, we can’t wait to share this very special place and community with you. Please take a moment to connect with your fellow guests this weekend and explore the North Fork Valley.
Attire: Mountain dressy
The ceremony and reception are outdoors, and October weather in Colorado can turn on a dime. While we are hoping for beautiful skies, mild temps, and calm winds, come prepared for anything! Think layered clothing and boots, not heels. We will be sharing our vows on semi-uneven ground, and you will cross gravel and dirt surfaces. The reception is at Mesa Winds Farm & Winery, where you may want to explore between the vines and check out the farm. Come in comfortable layered attire that you can get down and dance in!
Kid Free! Dog Free!
This will be a kid-free and dog-free wedding and reception. It will be best to leave the littles at home. If you don’t have an option and need help locating a reputable local sitter, we can connect you to some good folks.
The Weekend
Join us for a casual evening outside at Big B’s Delicious Orchard. We will grab a big picnic table and have a pitcher and some apps ready for you! You can order dinner (or additional drinks) at your leisure, stroll along the apple trees, and enjoy the views. Kiddos welcome! Live music begins at 7 pm, and we will hang out here enjoying your company and the music until the stars are out. Come when you can, come as you are!

Dinner - 6:30 pm
Cass Clayton Band - 7:30 pm - 10 pm
After enjoying some appetizers and drinks while meeting fellow guests, we will enjoy a locally sourced meal prepared by Mesa Winds Farm and Winery. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available, and portion sizes are hearty. This is a roving dinner experience with food stations. Tables and seating are available if you need to take a load off!
After dinner, we will share some toasts and prepare to rock the dance floor with the Cass Clayton Band. We saw the Cass Clayton Band at a music festival in Ft Collins and left stomping our feet and clapping our hands. We look forward to gettin’ down with y’all!
